Parts & Purchasing Specialist

Location: Richland, MS
Pay: $25-$30 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Position Type: Temp-to-Perm (T2P) or Direct Hire (DH)

A leading provider in refrigerated truck sales and service with an additional generator division, supporting commercial clients across the Jackson, MS area. The team specializes in high-quality service, repairs, and parts support for cooling systems, generators, and related equipment.


Position Summary

The Parts & Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of parts-from inventory monitoring and purchasing to pulling orders and customer counter sales. This role is fully air-conditioned and involves handling small parts only. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in both the warehouse and front counter areas.


Key Responsibilities

Parts Management

  • Pull parts for incoming service orders and customer requests
  • Organize and maintain parts storage areas
  • Ensure accuracy in part selection and order fulfillment
  • Assist walk-in customers at the parts counter
  • Sell parts directly to customers and provide product guidance

Purchasing & Inventory

  • Monitor inventory levels daily and anticipate replenishment needs
  • Create purchase orders and communicate with vendors
  • Track shipments and verify receiving accuracy
  • Maintain updated inventory records within internal systems
  • Reduce stock discrepancies through routine cycle counts

Customer & Internal Support

  • Provide support to service technicians regarding part availability
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Ensure prompt and efficient order flow between service and parts departments

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in parts, purchasing, warehouse, or counter sales
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and purchasing systems
  • Good communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be willing and comfortable working the customer counter
